Are you an author, artist, or just someone who aspires to do something really cool with your life?
Do you glaze over, panic and break into cold sweats when you go to a conference, or spend a morning reading blogs and find about all the stuff you’re “supposed” to be doing online– registering a domain name, building a platform, creating rich content, building a personal brand, posting videos and podcasts, and being a good, active citizen on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Digg, Google Buzz and any one of what seems like 500 social networking sites, forums and email listservs? (Yeah, I’m as amazed as you are that listservs still exist.)
Glaze no more. Breathe. Look into my eyes. We can do this together.
I’m a writer, so I know what that’s like, but I also have 11 years of experience building web sites for some of my country’s (Canada’s) biggest media corps. and cultural institutions, like:
- Transcontinental Media (like a Canadian Conde Nast, publishers of magazines like Canadian Living, Elle Canada, Elle Quebec, Coup de Pouce and many others
- Reuters
- Sympatico
- The National Ballet of Canada
- Harbourfront Centre, including International Festival of Authors, and the The Power Plant art gallery.
I’ve also worked with a lot of small business, and I’m trained in marketing and media relations (by HKC Marketing).
Here’s a sample of my portfolio of past projects.
Now I want to take everything I’ve learned and use it to help other writers and artists carve out their own cozy little spot on the web– a warm and comfortable niche from which to take over the World.
My company is called Accomplice Media Inc. because that’s how I’ve always seen my role. You have all this amazing stuff you want to achieve, but it can get a little overwhelming. I can sit down with you and help you figure out the right mix of marketing, media, web & social networking stuff for your goals, time and personality. Then I can retreat to my home office and build it for you. I also hold heavy shovels, act as a lookout, and drive getaway cars. (In my imagination, anyway.)
I’m going to develop this page more, as I network with people and find out what kinds of questions people have, but let’s call this a start.
If you have any questions, please feel free to shoot me an email, or track me down on Facebook or Twitter. I’ll be happy to talk things over with you.
