Monique Polak Book Launch

Autumn is such a busy time in publishing and, well, EVERYWHERE, it seems. But I still managed to squeeze in a couple of hours to drop by Monique Polak’s launch of TWO new YA books: Junkyard Dog, and The Middle of Everywhere, at Babar En Ville in October.
The image at top left is of the lovely Monique at her book launch. (Doesn’t she just glow with authorly goodness? Not only is Monique talented and prolific, but she is one of the most adorable women in Canadian YA.) You can see the rest of my photo set of the event over here, on Flickr, featuring authors Days Lee & J.L. Sharf, bookseller Maya’s awesome shortbread sugar cookies shaped like dog treats, and MORE.
I also finally got around to reading Monique’s QWF Award nominated What World is Left, and I gotta say, I’m rooting for her. Engrosing, touching– it really got under my skin; I had to finish it once I started. Check it out in my Goodreads.
Now for more business– I’m off to my 15 year high school reunion tonight! See you soon, RWA class of ’94.
