I’m not an expert in poetry, but I think that if you scan the entertainment listings in your area (try papers like NOW & Eye in Toronto or Hour & Mirror in Montreal, for example) you’ll find poetry events listed. At those events, you’ll find poets. I’m sure they can always use one more set of ears in the audience, and if you get to know them, they’re the ones who can help you out. That’s what I would do in your position.

My daily habits allow me to hear your new show. It sounds good and you sound happy. I have also acclimatized nicely to Jian.

Here it comes. Over the last 5 years I have written about 250 poems; some drivel; some ‘clever’; but, some stand up very well over time.

I need to find a way to publish a collection of them. They include nature, love and passion, war, and other whimsies of we people.

You may recall that I was among the first listeners to nominate Vimy Ridge as a special “Canadian” place. That triggered a fascination with our war history and they who fought, on both sides.

This is a lot to ask, but can you tell me where I might start the search for a way to get my stuff out to the reading public? I do not want you to go to any unreasonable lengths, but if you or your producer could furnish a contact, I would be eternally grateful, which given that I am over 70 is not that long an eternity…. But it’s all I can offer.
