Tour update- from Grimsby to Hali

Thank you, students, teachers & librarians at Blessed Trinity Catholic Secondary School, for being such wonderful hosts to Skribbs & I. Something I’m starting to notice with all these school presentations is how different one student body can be from another. The character of schools is almost as varied as the personalities of individuals. Tomorrow I’ll be at Clayton Park Junior High in Halifax, NS, where I’m sure the rule will be proven again.

I spent yesterday with More Or Les & Peter Project, driving them around the city, hanging out and hauling gear in preparation for their show at the Halifax Pop Explosion. Halfway through the day I got to appear on the Maple Mothership at CKDU. Maple Mothership is Canada’s only all-Canadian hip hop radio show! (Don’t panic, you can listen online even if you don’t live in Halifax). DJ Beef & Ewan were totally generous about hyping up Break On Through. It was a great afternoon.

The show last night was the Fuzzy Logic label showcase and it was hype. You know when you go to a show to see one band and then out of the blue, this other band melts your face with awesomeness? Les & Pete together are pure magic, and I already knew what to expect from bands such as the Bicycles, who killed it just a little harder than usual, but it was the first time I’d seen Woodhands perform. Whoa! Wow! Imagine performing electro rock so hard it almost comes out metal on the other side, and that’s the “sweaty electro glory” of Woodhands.

And I overhead this in the ladies’ Room: Woman into mobile phone: “No… Amy, no! Don’t go there!… No!… There’s NO good vibe there… Amy! Don’t do it!” (she takes the phone away from her ear and calls to her friends) Svannah, Carrie, Amy is going to CHEERS.”
