I’d like to say thanks to the students and teachers at Sandalwood Heights Secondary school in Brampton, ON who gave b-girl Skribbs & I such a warm welcome yesterday, and asked so many great questions.
And then this morning we had a marvelous time at the Sanderson branch of the Toronto Public Library. Thanks to everyone who came out!
And now, a sampling of some funny/weird things I’ve overheard while walking down the street in Toronto this week:
Yesterday- woman to man walking down Queen West:
“They say it’s suppposed to snow later, and I am just morally opposed to that.”
(It did, in fact snow yesterday! I guess she would have moved from opposed to appalled as the day went on.)
This afternoon, near Nathan Phillips square, Woman A to Woman B, pulling on a pair of rainbow-striped gloves:
“I wore these gloves when I was out with Chris and everyone thought I was gay! Look, just because my gloves are colourful does not make me gay. If you don’t want to hang around me now, that’s your problem.”
In the lobby of the hotel:
“I don’t know if airline stock has EVER paid off… it’s more of a love thing.”
