Jill Murray
Thanks, Edmonton!
I have these online search gadgets set up to track my own name and the words Break On Through, because it makes me feel like I’m being responsible, trying to stay on top of things.
Mostly I just get to find out about porn, as well as what every single Jill Murray on the entire Internet is up to. But today, the searches dredged up something cool: the page for my book in the Edmonton Public Library system.
- Cool thing number 1: there are 5 copies.
- Cool thing number 2: 4 of them are checked out or on hold.
- Cool thing number 3: The Edmonton Public Library has social-media-ized itself so you can write reviews, recommend books, create lists get newsletters, and find reviews on other sites, all from right there on the book page.
This totally makes me want to go to Edmonton.

if you go to edmonton, I hope you go to the mall! it’s big, and the roller coaster is pretty crazy!!
Yay! Next step: getting it on to high school reading lists. I know some teachers…
Emily, if there’s a bookstore in the mall, then I will go to the mall.
Andrea: yeah! I’m working on setting up school and library visits for the fall.
my mom’s a highschool teacher. she teaches careers (being a b-girl like nadine is a career, right?). maybe you could go to her class!
I would be happy to go to your mother’s class and explain to everyone how if they want to be a b-girl or writer, they should have a backup skill that will allow them to do that.
