Thank you, everyone, for all the exclamation points. (!) ((I’ve used up my own supply for the year already.))

Okay, I checked on pre-ordering, and here is what I found:
on Amazon you save 4.04 off the price if you pre-order.
on indigo/chapters you save 3.59 to pre-order.
but, it costs 3.95 per package, and 1.95 per item (i.e. 5.90 for one book, and 7.85 for two books) for shipping. So it costs more or the same price for shipping, but takes longer to get your hands on it then going to the store.
so i’m going to buy it in the store for the same price, or at the launch.

Thanks for the economic analysis, Chrisa. There are some cases missing though–
A) You save up a couple of book orders and order them together, thereby obtaining free shipping from an online merchant
B) You ask a local indie bookstore to order it in for you, and call you when it gets there
What then?

Okay, you caught me. I was only going to buy 2 books, not the 4 that gets me over the $39 necessary for free shipping.
Your option B is the best subset of waiting for the bookstore, and independent bookstores are good to support unless they are snobby. I will try discussing with an independent bookstore near me.
