Snow day
These were taken a couple of weeks ago during a multi-day snow extravaganza in Montreal, through the window of the lunchroom at a client’s office. They were all shot in full colour– it was the day that went black and white, just like when Calvin’s dad (of Calvin & Hobbes) was a kid.

Most of this snow is still around. On the street where I live, it’s still hard to find parking if you don’t carry a big shovel in your trunk. This has put the final damper on any thoughts I had of buying a car.

So pretty and so cold! Yeah, owning a car in Montreal would suck. I never liked the honking snow removal vehicles. I assume they come by and honk to tell you to move your car, and then the clear the snow when all the cars are moved, and then I guess you put your car back? It seems so tedious. And given how often they would circle the block and honk, it seems like it’s a long process.
I’ve not yet experienced the honking. But I’m really glad I don’t have to move a car. There are signs on all the streets– no parking between Xtime and Ytime between Xmonth and Ymonth– so the plows must come at predictable intervals and if you’re on it, you just make sure to park somewhere else during those times.
