B-Girl Breakdown Vids
I’m getting ready to launch a page of “extras” for Break On Through. One of the things I’ve always wanted to do is provide a visual glossary of moves, so people can better understand some of the dancing that goes on in the book. There’s already a lot of breakdancing online, but it tends to be performance, run, or battle-based, rather than breaking down individual moves for the uninitiated. (With the exception of the nine million vids of dudes trying to land flares and mills!)
With that in mind, I began filming b-girls at Street Dance Academy in Toronto, in early November. Here’s a sneak peak:
