I flew into New York in broad daylight for the first time ever on Friday. In the past I’ve driven or landed at night.
It was a classic hot, muggy New York city July day yesterday, as it is today, so the view was a little hazy, but that only seemed to add to the mythical appearance of… Queens.
I don’t think there’s a square inch of this city that hasn’t been used as inspiration for some aspect of art or popular culture. If there is, I don’t think I could locate that inch given a year of time off to explore and search it out.
More photos from the flight are available, here, in my Flickr account.
