Toothpaste Molests Brush!

I’ve decided not to write for Torontoist.com anymore, the leading reason being that I’m moving to Montreal, and a good follow-up reason being that it’s become less and less the kind of blog where you can just dash off a random post about a strange thing you see on your lunch break.

If there was a Montrealist(e) (there isn’t), and it was a Montrealist(e) similar in character to a Torontoist circa February 2006 (mmm, time travel), I would almost certainly have to infiltrate my way onto the staff roster, specifically to post this photo.

I took it in April, after signing my lease for July, but before meeting Emily in the village for sangria and sunburns.

My big question here is: Is it just me, or is this toothpaste totally molesting this toothbrush?

Emily thought they were just dancing, but it looks to me like Toothpaste is getting a little fresh with Toothbrush. It may be that in traditional mythology and hygiene, Toothpaste and Toothbrush are MADE for each other, but does THIS Toothbrush feel that way about THIS Toothpaste? It seems to me that Toothpaste’s advances may be less than wanted. Perhaps Toothpaste is Colgate and this Toothbrush prefers a little organic baking soda action. Perhaps Toothbrush is fresh out of the box and wants to stay that way. Perhaps that’s too much to ask, and it is not Toothbrush’s true destiny to lie forever at the back of a cupboard, forgotten and unused. But just who is Toothpaste to go forcing the issue? And what is the mysterious “Hygieniste’s” role in all of this?

Thoughts, anyone?

That photo is amazing.

Also, I had more than one person ream me out for not checking to see if Stephen Harper had a real Facebook profile after posting about the fake one the National Post imagined. I mean, COME ON.

I think the toothpaste is definitely having its way with that brush… the brush is recoiling in horror as the paste descends and it is pinned… But maybe I’m reading too much into it from the personal experience I had at the dentist last week.
Oh yeah, and that facebook post was awesome. I would never read the National post and that was a gem.
