The Toronto Public Library site has a link to Les’ web site because they’ve included his first album, I only stop for the Red Ants in their new Local Music Collection. Check it out, he’s right there on the sample page, between LAL and Ninja High School.
We were a little confused when they came calling for Red Ants, because he released The Truth About Rap in the spring, and not only is that what we’re really pushing right now, but it’s been widely acknowledged as the superior of the two. Although, yes, the first one is still great, Les, stop reading over my shoulder now, just kidding. But they only wanted the Ants. The person who called didn’t know why. He just had a list of people to call and things to ask for. So we may never find out.
What I want to know, though, even more than that, is, doesn’t the library realize that I’m the one with the library card, the one who’s always trying to “sell” people on the library, the one whose fines fund all those snazzy branch renovations you see around town, the one who has donated both money and books to the library, (Side note on that, the library actually does not want books. I got lucky that one time I convinced them to take mine. Go figure.), the one who visits libraries in other cities as a tourist? “You mean, we get to go to the library? That’s so cool!” Yeah. Me. I said that. Where’s my link?
