My birthday is next week, and I wasn’t going to do anything special, but already people are surprising me with gifts, so I have to say, things are looking more exciting than I had expected.
Yesterday, Lyndee Of the Calgary Lyndees was in town and surprised me with this magnificent bit of cancelled cartoon history:

It’s an original drawing of Milo Oblong, by Angus Oblong, of The Oblongs and Creepy Susie fame.
Then the Delightful Rapper left on tour at 5 a.m. this morning, and left me this subsequent piece of cancelled cartoon history to discover on the kitchen table upon rising at seven:

Season 4 of Home Movies. The final season. Tear.
It came unwrapped, along with this “card” that will go down in the annals as one of the finest boy-cards in the tortured history of the genre. (Has no one told them about this place they call “Hallmark”?)

The joke is from the performing arts camp episode and if you don’t get it, you need to watch it. Come on. Watch it. It’s out on DVD already.
