Landmark day for JillMurray.com

It finally happened. The first real sign of blogging success:

Someone has posted an anonymous comment to this web site, complaining that I should find something better to write about.

I feel pride because I count the hatred of anonymous online readers among the true signs of achievement in blogging. It means traffic is going up and I’m reaching a wider audience. Since proportionally more people will comment when they hate something than when they love something, it also means that many of you awesome new anonymous readers are actually enjoying yourselves while you’re here.

That said, I’d like to direct your attention to the masthead of this site, where you will observe that the name of the site is JillMurray.com. That means that the only content appropriate for this site is my own creative output, included and edited as I see fit.

I won’t be censoring myself to satisfy my readers, so don’t even ask.

If you’ve been here a while, you’ll know that I enjoy ongoing dialogue with my readers. Things you do and say spark conversations that add something to this space, and some of you even find your way back into posts as characters and persons of note. That’s because you’re ultimately cooler than I am, and I’m going to exploit you for everything you’re worth. Take that, funnypeople.

Let;s review the ground rules for commenting so everyone knows how things work around here:

1- I ask that you leave your email addresss.

2- If you give me a fake address and I don’t know you, and you’re a jerk about it, I will

a) let you know that that’s why your comment was deleted on contact

or

b) make fun of you at a time and in a post of my choosing.

Because I’m looking out for my readers, and I think as a group you’ll enjoy that.

Awesome! I have read and accept your rules for posting comments.

I recently chose to change the URL for my blog since someone was posting very nasty comments about a friend and former coworker of mine, and I couldn’t figure out who or why, and didn’t really want to engage in a full out blog-comment-war with someone who I may or may not work with in a supervisory capacity.

So there, try and find me now random jerk commenting stranger!
