Yikes!

Don’t you just love it when things go wrong?

Today, this blog spontaneously decided to stop working, I couldn’t get my scanner to scan, some other online software that I need for some other things was taking a mental holiday, and I had a headache because the weather is changing, which meant I couldn’t get to the gym like I meant to do yesterday.

The blog data was safe… I… just… couldn’t… figure… out… how… to… display… it… to… you. Probably… was… hosting… issue.

Also, I didn’t actually intend to close all the comments on the site. That just happened and at the moment nothing I’m doing is bringing them back. I’m pretty upset about it. Sorry.

Like sand through the hourglass, these are the joys of being one’s own webmaster.

Yeah, I was wondering about that…

Weird. This comment section is open, but on the Starbucks post, it is not.

I think if you go back to the Starbucks post now, you’ll find the comments are open. Shortly after you commented (but without seeing your comment), I deleted it and posted it again, and that seemed to chase the weirdness away.

However, now what’s weird is that I didn’t get the message to moderate your comment until about 7pm.

Before, I had it set so that I didn’t have to moderate every comment, but now the spammers have caught on, and the spam killer I tried to use may have been implicated in the whole wacky site-breaking episode.

Soo… I’m probably going to switch hosts, upgrade Word Press (although I hear 2.0 is fraught with nasty glitches) and then use the good spam killer, all of which should add up to better up time and less weirdness.

Is this not fun and fascinating?

I’m going to answer my own questions: no, and no.
