The sociopaths responsible for erecting that multicolored splotch building in my direct line of eyesight have been using words from this web site as the lead quote in the press section on their web site.
And their other quotes were all from the comments my first Torontoist post generated.
I was thinking that as long as they thought my words made for effective pr, I’d sell them advertising too. I had the letter all typed up and was just searching for an email address to send it to.
Dear [Arrogant Weirdo],
On your press page you cleverly point out that “people are talking” about Westside lofts.
But your lead quote is from my web site, and the subsequent quotes are comments from the Torontoist.com story which republished my words, with my permission.
So really, people aren’t talking. I’m talking, and people are talking back to me.
Since you’ve boldly acknowledged that my words, audience and influence resonate with your target market, you will be delighted to learn that I am offering special introductory prices on a series of banner, skyscraper and text ads through the end of March.
Ads can be purchased in blocks of 30 or 90 days. I think you will find the rates very reasonable compared to those of competing blogs. Please see the spec. sheet, attached for more details.
Looking forward to your response,
Jill Murray,
Blogger In Chief,

But now they’ve updated their site so all the quotes are gone.
I wonder what happened. Did someone else complain? Did a marketer on the inside suggest that all publicity is not good publicity after all? Or did their web person accidentally generate an error in their flash file?
Operators are standing by if they’d like to put their money where my mouth is.
