The real meaning of “baguette”

Whole wheat bread, hot outta the oven!

JM: I’m just impressed that it’s possible to make bread– that we can do that. With our hands.

DR: Uh hunh…

JM: Bread dough is so cool. The yeast eats and multiplies and when you knead it the second time, it’s like you can feel it pushing back at you. A bread dough is a living thing. It’s aliiiiive.

DR: Really?

JM: Yeah, and when you shape it into a baguette, it feels like an arm. Like a limp, human arm.

DR: Ew!

JM: Only tasty.

DR: I’m sure that limp human arm is not what “baguette” means in French.

oh, so you did make bread! Look good!

A bit pink on my computer, so the comparisons to an arm are a bit worrying, but good nonetheless!

Does this mean no more croisssant requests?

Would it scare you if I tried to make vegan croissants chez moi?

Um…a little. But I’m open minded.
