Christmas is for discipline
Over the last five years, my Christmas holiday has slowly turned into the exact opposite of what it used to be.
My Christmas ritual now consists of running home to Wysteria Lane for six continuous days of:
- Half an hour on the treadmill, followed by two kinds of push-ups and sit-ups or a vigorous hour-long walk in inclement weather
- 3 hours of writing, daily
- Cooking all meals from scratch, using no animal ingredients.
- Eating practically no sweets because 90% of them contain animal products
- Writing Thank-You notes
Following my rigorous Christmas regimen, I am then ready to begin a new year of slow decline when I return home in January. But it’s nice to be able to start the year at the top of the hill.
