  3. An arbitrator is different than a judge in that an arbitrator is entirely independant from the civil legal system. If I am a lawyer, I can rent out an office in some high school girl’s dad’s law firm and operate as an arbitrator, and I can earn even more than a judge can. Judges don’t decide to become judges for financial reasons. They do it for the prestige and because they believe in the legal system.
