Get out your needle and thread, and call up that uncle who sounds just like Frank Oz:

I’m not so sure about this. I’m a little sensitive about all things Jim Henson. He’s one of my top three favourite People I’ve Never Met. I’m not sure what the point of a make-the-next-muppet contest is if no one gets to talk to Jim. Without Jim, isn’t it just another greedy showbiz experience?
It kind of cheapens muppetdom, too, like– “there are so many muppets already, let’s just raffle one off.”
And since when are the Muppets “American?” That is a distinctly un-muppetutian concept. The Fraggles are the world and the ecosystem. The Swedish Chef is uhm, Swedish. Gonzo is an alien. Animal is from planet rock. I mean, come on. Nationalism is so not Jim. They’re pluralist puppets, people.
Hm. I’ll reserve final judgement for after the show airs.
The muppet stamps are cool though. I’m glad they got Beaker and Dr. Bunsen Honeydew in there.
Meep!
