Just read it. It was good.
It’s on sale at amazon right now, so you don’t have much excuse not to get it.
But skip the Amazon reviews, OK? Who exactly are these jaded people who can’t be bothered to read “another” coming of age story simply because the writing is good and the characters feel real and the story is entertaining? Are they not aware that there are only 1 to 69 plots in existence in all of human intelligence? Have they never come of age themselves?
Yeah, maybe that’s it.
Besides, who cares what the plot was? Non fiction isn’t plotted. (sure it’s structured but you know what I mean here… I’m not looking for the Kakapo to find a mate by chapter 9 or I’m putting the book down.)
Is it a satisfying read?
Yes.
So please people (yes, you cranks over there in the corner, I’m talking to you) less writing about reading, and more reading please. I bet you didn’t even finish the book before snapping to judgment. Grow up already.

Sounds like a good suggestion… at least, it’s going to occupy my upcoming week-end. Going to pick it up at the local library… yes, I’m cheap…

I am also a major library user. This one however, I like enough to keep. (And no, that doesn’t mean I’m stealing books from the library.)
